Meet the Teacher!

Welcome to Mrs. Sam’s class! I am pleased to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you and to welcome your child to my class. Teaching is an absolute passion of mine, and I am so excited to work with you and your child this year! I look forward to the knowledge and growth we will accomplish this year. It is going to be a fun year full of learning, discovery, and adventures for your preschooler! Here are a few things about me and some important reminders.

About the Teachers

This is my sixth year at Taylor Early Childhood Center in the Dunklin R-5 School District. This will be my fifth year as a teacher in our building! I was a para-educator in our building my first year at Dunklin. I graduated from Missouri Baptist University with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education in December 2012. I am also certified in Early Childhood Special Education. I live with my husband, Mark, and two dogs, an Australian Shepherd/Rottweiler mix named Luxe and a German Shepherd/Rottweiler mix named Aria. We are currently expecting twin boys! They should be making their arrival in mid-September. I enjoy running, hiking, playing with my dogs, reading, cooking, traveling, and spending time with my family and friends.

Our classroom will have a full time para-educator, Ms. Alesha Lett. This will be Ms. Alesha’s second year working in our building. Ms. Alesha currently attends Missouri Baptist University pursuing her degree in Early Childhood Education. In her free time, Ms. Alesha enjoys camping and spending time with her animals. Ms. Alesha will be taking over my teaching position in our classroom while I am out on maternity leave. She will have a full time substitute para-professional to assist her as well. We are looking forward to growing and learning with your child this school year!
