A state law passed in 2022 sets a new standard for the amount of lead allowed in drinking water at schools.  All water fountains and sinks used to prepare food must be below five parts per billion (ppb). The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) allows up to 15 ppb of lead in public drinking water. Fortunately, the water coming into our schools in Herculaneum and Pevely is well below that standard.

Dunklin R-5 Plan for Testing

Over 90 water sources have been tested in our schools.  Those sources that exceed 5 ppb can usually be corrected by changing the aerator, replacing the faucet, or adding a filter.  The link below is a spreadsheet of each location tested and the results. The letters ND stand for None Detected.
